Terms of service

Draft, not in force. These terms are being reviewed and nobody accepts them today. They have not been checked by a lawyer; names in brackets are still to be filled in.

These terms are an agreement between [legal entity, address] ("we") and the organization that creates a workspace ("you"). They cover the 365 Rewind portal, the Windows app and this website (together, "the service").

1. What the service does

The service backs up, compares and restores the configuration of Microsoft 365 tenants you administer. It does not back up user content such as mail, files or chats. The Windows app acts in your tenant with the sign-in or the app registration you provide; we have no access of our own to your tenant.

2. Your account and workspace

  • You must be authorized by the owner of each tenant you connect to back it up and, where you restore, to change it.
  • You are responsible for the people you invite to your workspace and the roles you give them.
  • Keep sign-in details and the recovery key of any local vault safe. We cannot recover a local vault without its key.

3. Plans, payment and renewal

  • The Preview is free and limited as described on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed as shown there when you order.
  • Invoices are payable within [30] days. A plan runs until its end date and does not renew by itself; renewing is a new order.
  • We may change the prices of a renewal with at least [30] days' notice.

4. Your data

Backups and everything the service stores about your tenants remain yours. We process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. When a plan ends, its hosted backups are kept for 90 days, during which you can still browse, compare and download them, and then deleted; the owners are emailed 30 and 7 days before. Backups in a local vault stay on your computer and readable in the Windows app.

5. Restores are your decision

The service shows a preview of every restore and applies nothing until a person confirms it. You are responsible for reviewing the preview and for the changes you confirm. Items restored by hand are carried out by you.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the service against tenants you are not authorized to administer, attempt to access other customers' workspaces, or interfere with the service's operation.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the portal available and to keep the catalog of setting types current as Microsoft changes its services. Microsoft may change or remove interfaces at any time; some settings may temporarily not be backed up or restored while we adapt.

8. Warranty and liability

[To be written with legal advice: disclaimer of implied warranties, limitation of liability to the fees paid in the prior twelve months, exclusion of indirect damages.]

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your workspace, which deletes its tenants, backups and records. We may suspend a workspace that breaks these terms or leaves invoices unpaid, after notice.

10. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Questions: legal@glacierpointtech.com.
